Terms of Service

The deal, in plain English: you own your data, you can cancel anytime, and we do our best to keep your books safe and available.

At a glance

  • You own your data — export any time. After cancellation takes effect, your books stay readable and exportable for twelve months.
  • Cancel anytime from Settings; paid access continues until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Cancellation does not trigger a refund.
  • Bokeping is bookkeeping software — not accounting, tax, or legal advice.
  • If we make material changes to the service or these terms, we email you first.

Effective September 24, 2026

These terms govern your use of Bokeping, the bookkeeping service operated by UTAXES, LLC (“Bokeping,” “we,” “us”). Please read them — they’re shorter and plainer than most.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Bokeping, you agree to these terms. If you’re using Bokeping on behalf of a business, you’re agreeing for that business and you confirm you have the authority to do so.

2. The service

Bokeping is bookkeeping software. It helps you record and understand your business finances — it isnot accounting, tax, or legal advice. For decisions that depend on your specific situation, talk to a qualified professional. (Your accountant gets free access on every plan, which makes that easier.)

3. Your account

Keep your account information accurate and your credentials safe. You’re responsible for activity that happens under your account, including by team members you invite. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Plans, billing & cancellation

  • Each company has its own subscription and is billed separately. A Pro subscription covers one company, including its stores and warehouses. You can choose Free or a paid plan separately for each company.
  • Each account gets one Pro trial, starting when you create your first company. Other companies you create during that trial share the same end date. Registering an account or joining someone else’s company does not start your trial. Creating or deleting companies does not restart or extend it.
  • Your Pro trial runs through December 31, 2026 or 30 days from creating your first company, whichever is later. When the trial ends, each company moves to Free unless you choose a paid plan for it. Companies created after your trial ends start on Free. No credit card is required, and the trial does not trigger an automatic charge.
  • Paid plans are billed monthly or annually, in advance. Each payment buys one month or one year of access.
  • You can cancel anytime from Settings. On a paid plan, you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for. On Free or an unpaid trial, cancellation takes effect immediately. Once cancellation takes effect, your books remain readable and exportable for twelve months. You can also choose to continue on Free.
  • Canceling a monthly or annual plan does not trigger a refund.
  • Upgrades take effect after payment, with the unused paid value of your current plan converted into extra time on the new plan. Plan changes do not trigger cash refunds.
  • To downgrade, we recommend purchasing the lower-priced plan after your current period ends. If you switch earlier, the new plan takes effect immediately and your remaining time does not carry over.
  • If a payment fails, we’ll let you know and retry before limiting access to paid features. Your data stays intact either way.

5. Your data

You own your data. You grant us only the license we need to host, process, and back it up in order to run the service for you. You can export your books at any time, and ourPrivacy Policy explains how we handle and protect your information.

6. Acceptable use

Use Bokeping only for lawful purposes. Don’t attempt to break, probe, or overload the service; don’t access anyone else’s data; don’t reverse-engineer the software; and don’t resell or white-label the service without our written agreement.

7. Availability & changes to the service

We work hard to keep Bokeping available and describe our availability targets on ourservice reliability page. Like any online service, occasional maintenance and downtime happen. We may add, change, or remove features over time; if a change materially reduces what your plan includes, we’ll tell you in advance.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

Bokeping is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service iscapped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

9. Termination

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, after notice where practical. If you cancel a paid subscription, access continues until your paid period ends. Once cancellation takes effect, your books stay readable and exportable for twelve months — you can sign in, look things up, and export again, but you can’t post anything new unless you resume service. You can choose to continue on Free. There is no exit fee. If you do not resume service, after that window your data is deleted in line with ourPrivacy Policy, and we’ll delete it sooner if you ask.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

11. Changes to these terms

If we update these terms, we’ll post the new version here and update the effective date. For material changes, we’ll email you before they take effect. Continuing to use Bokeping after a change means you accept the updated terms.
