These terms govern your use of Bokeping, the bookkeeping service operated by Bokeping, Inc. (“Bokeping,” “we,” “us”). Please read them — they’re shorter and plainer than most.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Bokeping, you agree to these terms. If you’re using Bokeping on behalf of a business, you’re agreeing for that business and you confirm you have the authority to do so.
2. The service
Bokeping is bookkeeping software. It helps you record and understand your business finances — it isnot accounting, tax, or legal advice. For decisions that depend on your specific situation, talk to a qualified professional. (Your accountant gets free access on every plan, which makes that easier.)
3. Your account
Keep your account information accurate and your credentials safe. You’re responsible for activity that happens under your account, including by team members you invite. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Plans, billing & cancellation
- Paid plans are billed monthly or annually, in advance, and renew automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel anytime from Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- We don’t issue refunds for partial months or unused time on a billing period.
- Upgrades apply immediately; downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.
- If a payment fails, we’ll let you know and retry before limiting access to paid features. Your data stays intact either way.
5. Your data
You own your data. You grant us only the license we need to host, process, and back it up in order to run the service for you. You can export your books at any time, and ourPrivacy Policy explains how we handle and protect your information.
6. Acceptable use
Use Bokeping only for lawful purposes. Don’t attempt to break, probe, or overload the service; don’t access anyone else’s data; don’t reverse-engineer the software; and don’t resell or white-label the service without our written agreement.
7. Availability & changes to the service
We work hard to keep Bokeping available and publish our track record on thestatus page. Like any online service, occasional maintenance and downtime happen. We may add, change, or remove features over time; if a change materially reduces what your plan includes, we’ll tell you in advance.
8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
Bokeping is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service iscapped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
9. Termination
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, after notice where practical. When you cancel or close your account, your books stay readable for twelve months — you can sign in, look things up, and export again, you just can’t post anything new. There is no exit fee. After that window your data is deleted in line with ourPrivacy Policy, and we’ll delete it sooner if you ask.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
11. Changes to these terms
If we update these terms, we’ll post the new version here and update the effective date. For material changes, we’ll email you before they take effect. Continuing to use Bokeping after a change means you accept the updated terms.
