Solutions / Switching to Bokeping
Switch without losing a number.
Bring supported lists and documents from spreadsheets or QuickBooks using separate CSV/XLSX files. Import bank activity separately, review the results, and reconcile your opening balances.
CSV & QBO import, built in
Use CSV/XLSX for supported lists and documents. Use .qbo bank files for bank or credit-card transactions only, not a complete QuickBooks company.
An afternoon, not a quarter
Most businesses are running by end of day: history in, bank connected, first invoice out.
Nothing silently dropped
The importer reports every row and every column — what landed, what was skipped, and why. Duplicates are detected, not duplicated.
The import
Bring the records you need
Import customers, vendors, items, invoices, and bills from separate CSV/XLSX files using the fields each import supports. Bank files such as .qbo add bank activity only. Review document balances and any payment records separately, then compare opening balances with the old system.
- Customers, vendors, items, invoices, bills, bank activity
- Opening balances that actually balance
- Duplicate detection on every import
- A full report of what landed and what didn’t
The first week
Old habits, better tool
Connect the bank, confirm the feed’s first batch, send an invoice from your imported customer list. By Friday the books are current and you’ve stopped opening the old tab.
- Bank connected in two minutes, read-only
- Your customer and item lists ready to use
- The old system stays untouched as a fallback
- Help center guides for every step

FAQs
Fair questions
No. Pick any clean cutoff — usually the end of your last reconciled month. History up to that date imports with opening balances that tie out, and new work starts in Bokeping the same day. Year-end is a fine time to switch; it just isn’t the only one. One thing that doesn’t come across: payroll history. Bokeping doesn’t run payroll, so keep Gusto or ADP where it is and post the payroll journal from there.
Yes, and it’s a sensible way to build trust: keep the old tool read-only as a fallback while you work in Bokeping. Most people stop opening the old tab within a week — but it’s your call to make, not a bridge we burn for you.
That’s the most common switch we see. Export your sheets as CSV — customers, items, open invoices, bank history — and map the columns once. If the spreadsheet was messy, the import report shows exactly which rows need a look instead of guessing on your behalf.
