Fair questions
Bokeping shows exactly which transactions are unmatched, so the gap always has names on it — a missing fee, a duplicate, an uncleared check. Fix those items and the difference resolves; there’s no hunting through the whole month.
Monthly, when the bank statement arrives, is the standard rhythm. With the feed doing daily matching, most months are ten minutes of confirming rather than an afternoon of hunting.
You can reopen the most recent one, fix what you found, and finish again. The lock exists to stop accidental edits, not to trap you.
