A pay button on every invoice.
Let customers pay by card or from a bank account straight from the invoice — through Stripe or Forte, whichever you connect. The payment posts itself, the invoice closes itself.
Cards, and bank accounts too
Cards through Stripe or Forte; bank accounts by ACH eCheck through Forte. Either way the checkout page carries your invoice details.
Posts itself
Payment lands → invoice closes → receipt sends → books update. You did none of that.
No markup on fees
You pay your processor’s own rates — Stripe’s published rates, or your Forte merchant agreement. Bokeping adds nothing on top.
Card numbers are never kept
With Stripe, your customer enters the card on Stripe’s PCI-compliant checkout. With Forte, the details travel from Bokeping’s checkout page to Forte over an encrypted connection. Either way Bokeping records that a payment happened and how — never the card or account number.
Click to reconciled
Follow one payment the whole way home
Tuesday, 8:41 AM: the customer clicks Pay on INV-0187 and enters a card on the checkout page. The invoice closes, the receipt sends itself, and the payment is posted to the deposit account you chose. Thursday: the processor’s payout reaches your bank feed, net of its fee. You reconcile it against the payment Bokeping already posted and record the fee as an expense — the fee is simply the gap between what the customer paid and what arrived.
- Invoice closes the moment the payment clears
- Receipt sent automatically — no follow-up email
- Payment posted to your deposit account, dated the day it cleared
- Payout reconciled against that payment when it reaches the bank
Refunds
Refunds without spreadsheet archaeology
A refund is where most books quietly go wrong: the money leaves your processor, the invoice still says paid, and three weeks later nobody remembers why the bank is $180 short. In Bokeping the refund is a first-class record — issue it against the original sale, and the invoice, the customer’s history, and the ledger all update together. When the refund passes through your bank feed, it matches instead of raising a mystery.
- Refund full or partial, from the original invoice
- A credit note keeps the paper trail complete
- The customer’s balance updates on both sides
- The bank feed line matches — no orphan withdrawals
How it works
Connect Stripe or Forte once
Link or create a Stripe account, or enter the credentials of your Forte merchant account, from Bokeping’s settings in a few minutes.
Send invoices as usual
Every invoice now carries a pay button. Nothing else about your flow changes.
Watch payments post themselves
Paid invoices close on their own. When the payout reaches your bank, you reconcile it against the payment already in the books.
FAQs
Fair questions
Either one puts the same pay button on your invoices. Stripe is the quicker start: link or create an account from settings and take cards. Forte fits a business that already holds a Forte merchant account, or that wants customers to pay from a bank account by ACH eCheck as well as by card.
Bokeping doesn’t add a markup — you pay your processor’s own fees: Stripe’s published rates, or the terms of your Forte merchant agreement.
On your processor’s schedule: Stripe pays out in typically two business days; Forte funds cards on the schedule in your merchant agreement, and eCheck a few days later once the bank transfer settles. When the payout lands in your bank feed, you reconcile it against the payment Bokeping already posted.
Yes. Partial payments post against the invoice and the remaining balance stays open and visible on both sides. Reminders keep chasing the remainder, not the part that’s already paid.
Issue the refund against the original sale and everything updates together: the invoice, the customer’s history, and the ledger. When the refund shows up in your bank feed, it matches to the record instead of becoming an unexplained withdrawal.
The dispute itself is handled with your processor — in Stripe’s dashboard, or with Forte for card chargebacks and returned eChecks — where you submit evidence. On the books side, the withheld amount and any dispute fee arrive through your bank feed as real transactions you categorize — so a chargeback is recorded honestly instead of vanishing into a reconciliation gap.
No. They click the pay button on the invoice, enter their card or bank details on the secure checkout page, and they’re done.
