Integrations / Bank Feeds
Your bank, connected in two minutes.
Bokeping connects to thousands of US banks and card accounts through Plaid. Read-only, encrypted, reversible — and your credentials never touch Bokeping.
Read-only by design
The connection can see transactions. It cannot move money, pay anyone, or change anything at your bank. Ever.
Credentials stay with Plaid
You sign in on Plaid’s encrypted screen. Bokeping receives transactions — never your username or password.
Reversible any time
Disconnect in one click. Your transaction history stays in your books; only the feed stops.
Your data stays yours
Transactions in your books belong to you: export them any time, and Bokeping never sells or shares your banking data. Disconnecting removes the feed’s access — not your records.
What arrives
Each transaction shows up ready to file
A raw bank line says “POS DEBIT 4417 CITYPWR 06/14.” What lands in Bokeping says City Power & Light, June 14, $318.40, and — because you’ve filed this payee before — a suggested category of Utilities with the confidence to match. You’re not decoding statements; you’re confirming sentences.
- Payee names cleaned up, not raw bank codes
- Date and amount exactly as the bank recorded them
- A suggested category, in plain words
- Deposits matched to open invoices when they fit
When the feed hiccups
Feeds fail politely, not silently
Banks run maintenance. Passwords change. Connections expire. When any of that happens, Bokeping tells you plainly — a status on the account, not a mystery gap you discover at reconciliation. Reconnect in a click, and the catch-up sync fetches what you missed while duplicate detection makes sure nothing arrives twice.
- A clear status the moment a feed needs attention
- Reconnect in one click — no re-setup
- Missed days back-fill on the next sync
- Duplicates detected and skipped on catch-up

FAQs
Fair questions
Plaid covers thousands of US banks and credit unions, including all the major ones. If yours isn’t covered, CSV import handles any bank that can export a file — which is nearly all of them.
No. The connection is read-only at the protocol level. Bokeping can see transactions to keep your books current — it has no ability to initiate transfers or payments.
It pauses, and Bokeping shows a “reconnect” status on the account rather than failing quietly. Sign in through Plaid once more and the feed resumes, back-filling anything it missed in between — with duplicates skipped.
Yes. Checking, savings, and cards across as many institutions as you use, each feeding its own account in Bokeping. Transfers between your own accounts show up on both sides so they’re easy to match rather than double-count.
It depends on the bank — most provide somewhere between a few months and two years of history through Plaid. Whatever the feed can’t reach, CSV import covers: export the older statements once and the two sources meet without overlap, because duplicates are detected.
The feed stops; nothing else changes. Every transaction already in your books stays there, and you can reconnect or switch to CSV import whenever you like.
